KeyClean Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
This policy is written for KeyClean, a macOS app that blocks keyboard input and mouse or trackpad clicks during cleaning. KeyClean does not record what you type, and discards blocked input events immediately after processing.
Information KeyClean does not collect
KeyClean does not collect:
- the contents of keystrokes or keyboard input;
- the contents of mouse or trackpad clicks;
- the contents of documents, apps, windows, or websites;
- account names, passwords, payment information, or contact lists.
KeyClean does not record what you type.
Information stored on your Mac
KeyClean may store app preferences locally on your Mac, such as your preferred blocking mode, timer duration, menu bar setting, and whether you chose not to show a startup notice again. These settings are used only to operate the app on your device.
Accessibility permission
KeyClean asks for macOS Accessibility permission so it can temporarily block keyboard input and mouse or trackpad clicks during cleaning. This permission is not used to record what you type. You can turn this permission off at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
KeyClean uses standard macOS capabilities to block input. It does not use kernel extensions.
Purchases and App Store services
If you obtain KeyClean through the App Store, Apple processes purchases, downloads, refunds, and Apple account information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. CP Software does not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
Website information
When you visit this website, the hosting provider or standard web infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and time of access for security, delivery, and operational purposes. KeyClean does not use this website to collect cleaning-time input from the app.
Third-party analytics and advertising
KeyClean does not include third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs in the app.
Children’s privacy
KeyClean is not directed to children. CP Software does not knowingly collect personal information from children through KeyClean.
Changes to this policy
CP Software may update this Privacy Policy when the app, website, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
