KeyClean Terms of Use
Last updated: May 6, 2026
Please read these Terms before using KeyClean.
1. What KeyClean does
KeyClean is a macOS utility that temporarily blocks keyboard input and mouse or trackpad clicks while you clean your Mac. KeyClean automatically restores input control after the selected timer ends or when you stop blocking manually.
2. What KeyClean does not do
KeyClean does not clean, repair, or physically protect your Mac. KeyClean is not a substitute for careful handling, safe cleaning materials, or the cleaning instructions provided by Apple or your device manufacturer.
3. Your responsibility when cleaning
You are responsible for how you clean your device. Before cleaning, follow the cleaning instructions provided by Apple or your device manufacturer, avoid getting moisture into openings, and do not use liquids or materials that may damage your hardware. Apple’s general cleaning guidance is available at support.apple.com/103258.
You are also responsible for confirming that KeyClean is active, that the correct input mode is selected, and that you can stop blocking or wait for the timer to end.
4. Accessibility permission
KeyClean requires macOS Accessibility permission to temporarily block keyboard input and mouse or trackpad clicks during cleaning. If this permission is not enabled, KeyClean may not work as expected. You can manage this permission in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
5. No input recording
KeyClean is designed not to record what you type, and to discard blocked input events immediately after processing.
6. Purchases, refunds, and Apple services
If you purchase or download KeyClean through the App Store, Apple’s terms, refund rules, and App Store processes apply to that transaction. Volume purchases through Apple Business Manager are also handled through Apple’s systems.
7. License
Subject to these Terms and any applicable App Store terms, CP Software grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use KeyClean on compatible Apple-branded devices that you own or control, or as otherwise permitted by Apple’s terms.
8. Prohibited use
You may not use KeyClean for unlawful purposes, attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the app except where permitted by law, or use the app in a way that interferes with another person’s device without authorization.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KeyClean is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. CP Software does not warrant that KeyClean will block every input event, work with every app or system state, or protect hardware from damage.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CP Software will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for hardware damage, data loss, lost profits, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of KeyClean or your cleaning of any device.
11. Changes to KeyClean or these Terms
CP Software may update KeyClean or these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
12. Contact
